Lucy's Flight Box has been purchased, and we are in the process of getting her used to it. We bought an XL crate, in plastic as required by the airlines, and we have placed her bed in the bottom half. So far, she is fine with that, but we haven't yet put the top or the door on. We're hoping she doesn't get too upset by that, because we want her to be comfortable with her crate so the flight over isn't so difficult for her. She does speak English, but her vocabulary is pretty limited, so I don't think she'll quite understand what is going on when she is placed in an airplane for 8 hours. The vet said that this can be the hardest part for them. She won't be sedated, because our vet said that she could be injured if she was given any calming drugs, because she wouldn't be able to brace herself during turbulence. We'll make sure she has Piggie, her favorite toy, to keep her company. She usually nibbles on him when she is feeling upset.

She also got a fresh shave, so the hot summer weather is much more tolerable. She's sporting her american flag bandana for her last 4th of July in the USA.

I don't know if they make Bastille Day bandanas for dogs in France.

She wouldn't likely chew on them--she is a bone purist. Frankly, I think she's just too intelligent for chewing on some rubber thing that squeaks. What's the point, after all?

Looking forward to seeing you in NOLA!
