Paris Neige

This is what we woke up to today.

We had a little taste of this yesterday, but it didn't amount to anything then, not even enough to brush off your shoulders.

But this morning (OK, afternoon. Give me a break--it's Saturday!), as you can see, the trees are still green, while the snow softly blankets the small strip of grass (also still green under the white) on our avenue.

It has been rather surreal--green leaves at the end of November, cool winds, rain and now, snow--so far away from every winter I have ever known.

We were in Paris last year about this time.....no snow, cold enough to wear hat and gloves, no leaves on the trees, overcast most days. We enjoyed the most beautiful Christmas windows, within walking distance from our hotel, on Boulevard Haussmann and, of course, Champs-Elysees. Tres magnifique! vm

We had our first snow here while we were in the cities for Thanksgiving. Not too bad for ND. However, on our way home from MN lake country yesterday it RAINED...POURED! AND FROZE!! Only affected us the last half hr of drive but this morning traffic is very slow, many accidents, schools closed(much to the delight of the kids) and snow expected with high winds.....ahhhhh ND....wait a few minutes and the weather will change yet again! Kristen/Ryon are off to Hawaii for 9 days....what great planning! Their friends from this area will meet them over there....hope air traffic is moving this morning!! We have baby Matthew and other grandma has 3 and 4 1/2 yr old in cities. Don't know if I could do all three at once... there is a reason God gives them to the young!! Auntie B
