It wasn't my school.

He wasn't my principal.

But he was an educator, like me.

He cared about kids, like I do.

He dedicated his life to trying his best to bring them up right.

What is this world coming to?

Whether it's students coming into schools and shooting teachers or other students, or a case like that crazy guy holding those girls hostage and doing God knows what to them before shooting that one poor, sweet girl -- it just makes NO sense that these things continue to happen in our schools.

I guess all you can do as an educator is focus on your own relationship with your students and making it a positive experience for you and for them, something that will have a lasting good impression for them (I still ADORE my high school band teacher!)
